  6. Chicago - January 12, 1996 - Visual Information Service Corp.  (VISCORP),
  7. an  INTERACTIVE TV developer headquartered in Chicago, Illinois and AMIGA
  8. Technologies  GmbH, headquartered in Bensheim, Germany, have finalized an
  9. international license agreement to adapt, utilize, license and distribute
  10. the  AMIGA technology within VISCORP's interactive intelligent set-top TV
  11. appliance  -  Electronic Device (ED).  The license authorizes VISCORP the
  12. right  to  use,  re-license and distribute the AMIGA operating system and
  13. compatible  parts of current versions of the technologies where the AMIGA
  14. products are used as, or as part of, interactive television devices.

  16. In  1995, ESCOM AG acquired all Commodore and AMIGA licenses, patents and
  17. trademarks.   Amiga is an acknowledged leader in the computer industry in
  18. the  area  of providing high-quality graphics for monitors and television
  19. broadcasts through their sophisticated chip sets.  The combination of the
  20. AMIGA hardware/software technologies and intuitive operating system makes
  21. them  a  viable  contender  in the development of high-speed delivery for
  22. complex  graphic  programming.  The AMIGA technology can import and adapt
  23. software to the set-top box with minimal changes.

  25. By  employing  the  sophisticated  AMIGA  chip set, VISCORP will have the
  26. ability   to  provide  a  complex  set-top  appliance  with  multitasking
  27. functions  to  integrate  affordably  the TV set, phone line, and network
  28. service  providers.   This  ability has not yet been offered or available
  29. through  existing  systems"  said Jerome Greenberg, VISCORP's chairman of
  30. the  board.  "By utilizing our unique set top appliance and incorporating
  31. the  AMIGA  technology,  VISCORP  is able to provide a complete practical
  32. solution  for  interactive TV-services, and now the ability to access the
  33. Internet  through a standard TV set with pricing that makes sense for the
  34. average TV viewer".

  37. The  integration  of  the AMIGA system with the VISCORP set-top appliance
  38. will  allow  access  to  the  Internet, on-line services and voice "chat"
  39. programs  through  the  TV  set.   As planned, ED will access any on-line
  40. services  and  any address on the Internet's superhighway.  Access can be
  41. though  a  TV  remote,  a computer keyboard, a touch-sensitive pen or the
  42. microphone  in  the  ED.   Additional plans will enable consumers to play
  43. games  (e.g., individually, against a networked opponent), or enable home
  44. shopping,  electronic  banking, and enable a subscriber to gain access to
  45. information services through a TV set.
